Contains carbohydrate specific enzymes – complex carbs (in fruit, veggies, grains and legumes) must be converted into the simple sugars glucose, fructose and galactose to be absorbed. Poorly digested carbs (starch, sugars, fiber) can lead to gas and abdominal bloating.
Contains sugar-specific enzymes – These convert certain sugars into another form (simple sugars). Incomplete digestion can cause GI discomfort and promote dysbiosis by allowing fermentation by pathogenic organisms.
