Ingredients: Adrenal Cortex Extract 250mg
This glandular concentrate contains the outer cortex section bovine adrenal gland. Certified to be BSE-free.

When your adrenal glands are overworked by too much stress or by illness, not only their function but also their structure can start to degenerate. This greatly accelerates the decline in health and vitality you experience with Adrenal Fatigue and makes it more difficult for you to handle additional stress or to recover.

One of the basic concepts of glandular therapy is that the oral ingestion of glandular material of a certain animal gland will strengthen the corresponding human gland. The result is a broad general effect indicative of improved glandular function. Thus, glandular therapy increases the tone, function, and/or activity of the corresponding gland. This principle is a mainstay of oriental therapy.

In case of infection of immune system deficiencies, thymus extracts and spleen extracts have been found to be quite useful. Glandular therapy is used extensively in the treatment of cancer, and AIDS. Glandular tissues are rich in nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, polypeptides, enzymes, and many other substances. Glandular therapy can supply essential nutritional needs in a highly efficient manner.

History

Prior to the 1940s, glandular extracts were in wide use all over the world including the western world, and a considerable amount of research was in progress to support their use. With the development of antibiotics, and the advent of "modern" technological medicine, the research was concentrated on developing more and more antibiotics and other pharmaceutical drugs that was more profitable to the drug companies. The research in glandular therapy came to a halt as a result. Just because the glandular approach was not being pursued in clinical research does not invalidate the usefulness of the approach or diminish the validity of its therapeutic value. It is still one of the cornerstones to Traditional Chinese Medicine and India's Ayurvedic Medicine. Glandular therapy is also receiving renewed interest as a treatment for cancer.

What is Glandular Therapy?

In glandular therapy, purified extracts from the endocrine glands of animals are used to help restore a patient's overall metabolism. Key glandulars frequently used are thyroid, thymus, and adrenal.

Glandular and organ extracts are usually taken from animals. These are known clinically as protomorphogens. Protomorphogens can be an important component of a complete nutritional program. They provide short term (immediate) as well as long term benefits. Typical extracts drawn from animal sources include extracts from the:

Pituitary

Thyroid

Adrenals

Pancreas

Heart

Liver

Kidney

Thymus

Other glands and organs.

Glandular and organ extracts are indicated when a patient's endocrine system is underproducing or undersecreting a specific hormone or when an organ is weakened or diseased, such as is often the case with cancer patients.

Clinical research suggests that glandulars improve the function of the gland or organ from which the extract was taken. The objective in glandular therapy is to stimulate and restore the activity of aged or diseased cells by supplying natural cell stimulators found in the tissues of the corresponding organ of an animal. Even trace amounts of these cell stimulators have shown to be sufficient to achieve desired results. Therefore, it is irrelevant if some of the cell stimulators are destroyed by stomach acid. Most of the glandulars are enteric coated.

Glandular therapy builds on the same principles as Live cell therapy, namely by providing the body not only the major hormone associated with a gland, but all the trace elements as well. Live cell therapy was developed in Europe in the 1930s by the Swiss physician Paul Niehans. One of his patient’s parathyroid gland was accidentally removed surgically. Knowing that she would die untreated, Dr. Niehans injected her with whole diced parathyroid from a freshly slaughtered sheep. The woman survived and lived into her nineties. Live cell therapy is recognized by the medical communities in Europe as legitimate and effective.

Glandular therapy dates back thousands of years, having been used by the ancient Hindus, Egyptians and Greeks. It still thrives in Europe.

Glandulars and other tissue extracts have been administered at one time in traditional medicine, for example the extract of bone marrow was used for the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia. Dissicated thyroid is still given by many physicians in the management of hypothyroidism. Adrenal extract has been found to have some cortisol which has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic activities. In the past 2 decades several research centers have been studying the effects of thymus peptides on the immune system, as clinical experience has shown that thymus extracts have immunemodulatory activity. For several decades, in Europe thymus extracts have been a valuable addition to immunobiological cancer treatment.
