To get down to the basics of health, illness has only 3 causes! There are lots of variations in the way to be sick, but only three causes of any of them. They are: Toxicity, Timing and Thoughts. Everything that happens in the body can be traced to at least one of them!
That doesn’t mean that there is no such thing as a disease or pain. In fact there IS! BUT… when you realize that all illness comes from the responses the body must make to stimuli, the type of food you eat, the kinds of stress you subject it to, and your attitudes; you will look at symptoms for what they are — symptoms are warning signs that you have pushed your body’s natural healing potential too far!
Things are seldom what they seem when it comes to “getting sick”. Germs that we have been washing off, drowning in disinfectant and tossing away with disposable tissues, are not the cause of disease. Furthermore, those recurring colds that send our comfort level down and our chicken soup consumption up are really signs that our bodies are taking care of themselves! It’s true… germs are micro-organisms, viruses, bacteria, etc. Certainly, each can play a part in disease. But, there are not the CAUSE of illness. When germs set up housekeeping your body, they are merely exercising squatter’s rights in warm, moist, comfortable quarters that feature an unlimited supply of food. Germs set up residence when your body’s defenses are down.
Bacteria, viruses, and micro-organisms are in and around us all the time. They don’t show up just on rainy days, during winter, or when you get your feet wet or when you go in and out between cold and warm temps! It’s estimated that each of us carries about 100 trillion bacteria. We are exposed to potential disease producers constantly; yet most of us are symptom-free much of our lives. With the constant concentration of germs in our immediate surroundings and in or on our bodies, if they were the cause of disease, all of us would be sick all the time! If we were as susceptible to infection by germs as we have been led to believe, why is it that some members of the same household ‘catch’ the current bug “going around” while others stay symptom free?
When your body is really healthy - more than just symptom free - disease producing bacteria can’t penetrate your defenses. All of the bacteria in your body aren’t bad by a long shot. Some produce enzymes that break down food molecules into forms you can assimilate. Other bacteria produce pigment, and still others are active in essential chemical processes. What determines the health of your cells? Lifestyle is the primary determinant of your health: what you eat, how rough you are on your body, how you rest, and what sort of attitude you have. If they are also hyperactive, grouchy worriers, they are prime candidates for chronic disease, imbalanced hormones (causing even more negative symptoms) or early death.

HAPPY ABOUT A COLD????
A runny-nose, watery-eye, miserable cold is an internal cleansing process. Your body will do everything it can to maintain its steady state of balanced health. Its first line of defense against un-wanted and unnecessary visitors is dilution. Diluting substances the body doesn’t need renders them less harmful. The body will either dilute or try to evict harmful or unnecessary substances. One method of removing unwanted or toxic materials from the body is the common cold. A cold may make you feel rotten, but the cold itself serves a purpose. Your body is getting rid of toxins that can threaten your survival. As long as you can develop a good cold, your body is still able to fight. I’ve never known of a person in the final stages of cancer to have either a cold or a fever!
The fever that sometimes accompanies a cold and other ailments is another ingenious method of cleaning out the body. Fevers kill off intruders.
